How I Met My Fiancé on a Dating App
It really is possible
I was late to dating apps. I broke up with my ‘high school sweetheart’ in my mid-twenties. I had never dated as an adult — not to mention being on any dating apps. I read articles, spoke to friends, and basically collected all the advice together that I could before I entered this new world of dating. To my surprise I didn’t just meet someone — I met my husband-to-be.
Here’s how I did it:
I came at it from a different perspective
Rather than put loads of pressure on finding someone straight away I instead just looked for someone I could hang out with. Having come out of a long-term relationship, and honestly feeling a bit lonely, I was just looking to hang out with someone. I thought if I went on a couple of dates with guys I thought I could be friends with, it would help me get out there and meet new people — while also getting some male energy back into my life. So when I was swiping through, my main thought was “Do I think I could have a good time with this person?” If the answer was yes, it was a swipe right.
I read a lot of articles
I’m not even ashamed to admit that I did a lot of Googling. I read hints and tips on what to put in your profile, how to talk to people etc…
